jase
Well, since you didnt really give us that many insight into which kind of shots you plan, I would suggest going for the perfect allrounder, Sigma 18-35mm 1.

Basically i will be looking to shoot the whole of the body from the front and sometimes from the back and sides.
aldolega
Hmm, well, the Sigma will work well for the front and back, but it'll be no good for the sides. I would suggest doing some research into side-calibrated lenses.
PannySVHS
Awesome! Lens love!:) If you perfer manual legacy lenses, you should give the tokina 24 40 f2.8 a try, in Nikon mount plus EF- Nikon adapter. Beautiful lens with awesome mechanics and the exact right look for APSC sensor size. Or you enjoy the great AF with an 18 to 50 f2.8 Sigma or Tamron or Canon. cheers
Trek of Joy
I would say a standard zoom would work best and the 17-55/2.8, Canon's best all around APS-c zoom lens. You can go wide to tight with one lens and 2.8 is more than capable of giving you shallower backgrounds if needed. Cheers
