Grégory LEROY
Hello, I don't find any video comparing GH5 1080p 120fps, 180fps to Sony cameras. Do you have some link? I don't understand why nobody cover this topic on youtube. Thank you.
funkyou86
Filmriot just posted this yesterday: No real comparison between the GH5 and A7S, but Ryan states that even he has an A7SII, he's considering to buy a GH5.
Orangenz
https://youtu.be/dXTN3-9bv64?t=2m41s Interesting from 2:41, lots of nice slowmo shots
Grégory LEROY
Thank you guys, if you have any comparison vs sony a6500, don't hesitate to post, I read a lot of opposite informations.
64mulford
I have both cameras and much prefer the GH5 for slow motion, even up to 180fps. I think the GH5 quality is slightly better AND it doesn't crop in 2x like the A7sii which is a big deal.

It's annoy to switch from normal to slowmo because now you found you have to stay back since composition changed Eduardo Granadsztejn and Kisaha
64mulford
Not a 2x crop with a speedbooster! And yes, that fact that your 50mm suddenly becomes a 100mm when you select slow mo on the A7sii is a huge inconvenience in a run and gun shoot. tihon84
A7s2 120fps fhd is soft. Rx10ii 120fps looks better and more sharp. Today did test of 120 and 180 fps on gh5 and it looks great, i think Fritz Pierre

Yep, 8 bit fhd 180fps Vlog all settings -5 i have to apply plugins and effects in AE for a second part of video what i did: Upscale fhd using AE effect in distort section using detailed upscale ( i did the same upscale in the first ungraded clips) i set details to 100% Than i denoise this clip a little using Neat Video. So i get more accurate colors and less artefacts Than i apply: 1- unsharp mask with 80, 0,8 settings 2- colorista II pop effect set to 25 render all this to 2.5k wmv 10mbps cbr 2 pass so i get clean and shap image in 2,5k
tonysss
GH5 360fps :-) The project is 25p and the shots GH5 are 180fps/50p slowed to 50%

The 2x of the Gh5 crops the image circle of the lens, while the 2x on the Sony crops the sensor. I had terrible noise using the slomo of the a7s2, (but also have terrible noise using slomo on the GH5 above 400 ISO) And having a consistant crop (more or less with speedbooster) allows faster working. Am i missing something?

GH5 saves slow-motion shots to 1080/50p, and my project is 1080/25p, so 50p slow motion shots slow down to 50% and no twixtor is needed

What's the gain of conforming to 50 fps in camera and then stretching in a 25 fps timeline? The final footage is still shot at 180 fps, you can't produce 360 fps clips from 180 fps footage without generating frames. Correct me if i am wrong.
