Vid-Atlantic vs Redstan clamps?

Hey guys, any differences between these brands? I'm looking to get a clamp  (anamorphic to taking lens) and was curious if one brand is better than other?

Apparently on Redstan site, they are sold out on their classic and newer model clamps. Saw that Vid-Atlantic looks almost identical.

Vid Atlantic is a pile of crap. Check Rapido, Raf, or rectilux if not Redstan. All 4 offer great solutions.

Thanks a lot!! Rapido's design seems to be the better one out of them all due to the screws not actually pressing against the anamorphic lens. I'll contact the guy for more info

I wouldn't say Vid-Atlantic clamps are crap. I have both a RafCamera, Vid-Atlantic and Rapido.

Vid-atlantic is a great cheap solution which can be quickly adapted to everything.
RafCamera clamp is great if you plan on letting it on the same lens and adapter but adjusting it every time is a pain (with the tiny screws at least)
Rapido is just awesome and very reasonably priced IMO

Vid Atlantic is a step up ring/ macro extension tube with a few holes and screws in it (I actually can't believe people buy them for the price they are you can make for a few dollars if you want). Get a Raf if you want the most cost effective solution.

I'm not sure what you are talking about Re: Raf... He makes a ton of different adapters and can do custom jobs for the same price usually. If you don't like something about the clamp just tell him and he will change it.

Both Raf, Rapido and Rectilux had stella service in my cases, I highly recommend.

I didn't particularly like the Vid Atlantic clamp when I got it.

Redstan was very much better.

I now use a Rapido setup, and love it.  I highly recommend the Rapido solution.

If you want the sleekest and most specialised solution for a range of different lenses Redstan is your best bet. The others aren't far behind, though depending what you want. I prefer the specialised solutions rather than a one fits all mentality.

yeah, suits all my needs perfectly, although i wouldn't associate "one fits all mentality "  with Redstan. His highly specialized solutions for Kowas like16H and C35 are perfect.

I liked the Redstan for the Bolex 16/32/1.5x very much. I recently bought one for my new Kowa C35. When I buy a new lens, I first look if Redstan has a solution. Don't save money on clamps when you buy expensive anamorphics ;-)

the one for C35 from Redstan is just the best, there is nothing even close on the market for that glass

I'd say RedStan, although I just use lens filters to attach my Isco 36, and it's just as secure. But as another said the Red/Raf/Rap are good options

I've had amazing customer service from vid-atlantic and Rapido.
I happen to have the rapido and redstan clamps and i have to say both are great for different reason. Never tried vid-atlantic clamps but have used their other products which are excellent.
