Got a friend thats gonna buy himself a new videocamera, he has a budget on 350$ (yeah i know it's not much :p) and i was thinking maybe someone here knows of something good? There are alot of cheap options out there, and he is not sure what to pick. Appreciate any suggestion !
andy lee
second hand Panasonic gh2 if you can find one for 350 or Panasonic gf3 hacked to 100mb/s second hand Canon 550d
dahlfors
Very tight budget. Sony Nex-5n is good for its price and can be had for far below $350. If it's possible to find a GH2 for that price I second Andy - get it. andy lee
Julian
or Panasonic gf3 hacked to 100mb/s Wouldn't recommend the GF3, no manual controls is cumbersome. Also it is not as sharp as a GH1/GH2 even with a high bitrate hack. $350 for a GH2 is going to be difficult I think. A GH1 might be a good option. NEX-5N too. Ben Prater
If he wants quality, he wants a DSLR. You can buy Canon T2i (maybe T3i) used for about $350, usually with the kit lens. If he can find a GH2, even better -- but T2i/T3i are both solid starting camera systems.
ntblowz
2nd hand GH2 body body cost $700 now, up from the $500 just a month ago, for $300 only the GH1 is in this range
Administrators Andrew Reid Posted April 16, 2013 Administrators Share Posted April 16, 2013 Hacked GH1 is best option for $350. GH2 won't be that cheap! 550D is OK but GH1 has less moire and aliasing, rotating screen, mirrorless lens mount for a wider variety of lenses and the hack. subsequent
Thanks guys! made his choice alot easier! :D Think he´s leaning towards the GF3 beacuse of the size, he´s not a video geek, so quality alone wont be all for him. andy lee
