Inazuma
http://www.43rumors.com/ft5-next-olympus-pro-lens-is-the-17mm-f1-2/ Knowing Olympus, it's going to be far sharper than it needs to be for a 16-20mp sensor and thus much bigger, heavier and pricier than an m43 lens needs to be.... But. This may bring me back to m43. See it's my favourite focal length and I think Panasonic/Olympus have the best IBIS and ergonomics in the industry. Honestly though it pains me every time they bring out a new expensive and needlessly heavy lens. The Fuji 35mm f1.4 is lighter and smaller than the Panasonic 25mm f1.4, with a nicer metal body. And of course much small than the Olympus 25mm f1.2. jase and Phil A
cantsin
An interesting question is whether it will be optically better than the Voigtlander 17.5mm/0.95 (or a 24mm/f2 lens with a Speed Booster, for that matter). And whether it will be optically corrected or rely on in-camera software geometry correction. (The latter might rule out its use as a standard prime on the BM Pocket and BM Micro Cinema Camera.) PannySVHS
@cantsin, good question. I doubt there is a cheap good 24mm f2.0 lens. The Walimex 24mm 1.4 is not there, starts being sharp from 2.8 on, Fstop 1.4 for distant shots is miserable with it. For photo work the Oly 1.2 might be hard to beat in the 17mm m43 realm. For that money though I´d rather get a GH5 plus a SLR magic 12mm 1.6 and use its 1.4 crop for 4K Extele mode, making it like a 17mm lens on full frame M43. Full frame M43 sounds funky jase
Inazuma
So it's here https://www.wexphotovideo.com/olympus-17mm-f1-2-m-zuiko-digital-ed-pro-lens-1643052/ As thought, pretty much the same size and shape as the 25mm. As it happens, I am using Panasonic bodies again at the moment, so I may just end up getting this lens if I ever have a spare $1000. God damn my lust for 35mm and shallow dof. Trek of Joy
The 24 & 35/1.4 are my favorite lenses, if I were shooting m43 I'd be all over this one.

Is that a typo, or is Wex really going to be selling the Olympus for USD $100 per mm? That’s pretty steep, isn’t it? If I were shooting video, especially with Panasonic, I’d definitely have to go with either the soon to be released Sigma 16mm f/1.4 (though I know you like your clutch focus) for around $400 or the incomparable Nokton 17.5mm (~ $800.00?). Inazuma
To be clear, I wouldn't be using this for anything where the main purpose is video. It'd be more of a photography lens.
jonpais
I thought as much. I'd say crazy to purchase this for video.
