Julian
Vimeo Music Store Just make sure you search for the right licence.
Sean Cunningham
freesound.org ...a lot of it is rather generic stuff obviously done in a synth package with no mastering or actual mixing of any kind but by browsing different categories you'll begin to pick out several talented musicians. This site has extensive "soundscape" style pieces as well as traditional jingle-style and melodic pieces. archive.org ...I went looking here for some old jazz examples but found quite a bit of contemporary music as well Like Julian's example, pay close attention to the type of license they're giving. Most of the pieces on freesound.org require nothing more than attribution and archive.org is similar but with a lot of material that's totally public domain. Sean Cunningham
Not a problem. I was actually kinda shocked at the quality of a lot of the available music at either site, comparing what I was able to quickly and easily find compared to a few of the pay stock houses I've used as well (ie. videoblocks). Qongo
I've found that you greatly increase your choices if you broaden your search to include low price licenses as well as royalty free. There are actually some good tracks out there that don't sound generic if you're willing to spend $25-$50 at one of the sites that lets you deal directly with artists. Calvinius
Phlow Media provides a really nice overview to sources and also explains the legal background at http://phlow.de/netlabel/informationen/wo-finde-ich-cc-musik.php It is in German language, though - but as there seem to be quite a few German speaking users of this forum, the link may be of interest and help for some. dahlfors
I'm surprised noone has mentioned https://soundcloud.com/ - everything from larger artists releasing music to one person making music at home, in a lot of different genres. There is a lot of music with Creative Commons licenses there that you can search for - and you can easily get in direct touch with the people who made the music if you want to get your hands on something which has a different license.
