Marcio Kabke Pinheiro
Appeared from nowhere. What are that dials? https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1359107-REG/zhiyun_tech_crane_2_3_axis_handheld_stabilizer.html
Marcio Kabke Pinheiro
Already teased in their Facebook page. Announcement tomorrow.https://www.facebook.com/ZhiyunGlobal/
jonpais
Not sure what the dials do, but $759.00 is pretty steep, considering the gimbal's been available for a couple hundred bucks less as is.
thefactory
Think it might be a zoom control. The older design has zoom on the handle and now it’s not there on this model
Phil A
Well, here we go, apparently it controls the focus jonpais
Marcio Kabke Pinheiro
Yeah, the bigger wheel is a follow focus. Only for electronic lenses, I suppose - and probably restricted to some manufacturers (I know that Canon have this possibility - Aputure UFC-1s comes to mind). Drew Allegre
Explains on the sales on the v2 lately. The payload headroom would be nice, but I'm not sure I'd ever use the follow focus feature. I wonder if it has anymore clearance room than the previous model. dbp
Goddamit, I JUST ordered V2.... hopefully it's nothing major, haha
LippyLee
The follow focus will probably be no different from their current implementation of the zoom control which uses USB PTP instead of wifi. This won't be a relevant feature for the majority of Panasonic users as only the GH4/5 and GX8 support control over PTP. On another note, besides releasing a new gimbal every few weeks, Zhiyun could easily release an SDK for their bluetooth gimbal controls, this could probably lead to more creative control for end users (like damped movement simulating a fluid head) and perhaps other uses Zhiyun themselves haven't thought of. gsenroc
Finally a shorter handle, I just bought the old V2 a while ago and now I regret it!

For an advanced gimbal that can take 7lb (3kg), 759 is cheap. gethin
buggz
7lbs, wow, I'm now interested.

I only wish it would be possible to add a 90deg angle to the handle like this:
JazzBox
Ouch... last week I received my V2 with a discount... now I see why But anyway I'm really happy about it!
Inazuma
There is no follow focus gear pictured, so I can only assume it only works electronically with Canon bodies

jonpais
i'm still in zoned out from the GH5, so pardon if it sounds like I'm suffering from pre-senile dementia, but iPhonedo just uploaded a video of the Zhiyun Crane V.2, which doesn't appear to be the same gimbal shown above. Incidentally, he's starting to grow on me. Is that a reason for concern? Okay, I see now. There's a Zhiyun Crane V.2 and a Zhiyun Crane 2. Now that's not too confusing, is it? It is very, when I saw the subject for this thread, I said, we already have a thread on this, but no, totally different products. jonpais
scotchtape
I hope they have improved the drifting horizon and response to g-forces. I tried using it in a car and the horizon really go out during and after turns. Not to mention you can notice it while moving normally (tilt up and down moving backwards or forwards and tilted horizon if moving so do sideways). I was thinking of using the V2 in a helicopter but after this experience don't think it will work very well. I know the older Ronin has tons of complaints for drifting horizon as well, but v2 sucks too for that.
