Grumble
Hi everyone, I've done a bit of messing about with video in the past and I've always done 2 pass encoding when rendering the video out. I was looking to move over to using Davinci Resolve and I couldn't find 2 pass encoding when outputting (typically just making stuff to go up on YouTube). Given the large file sizes that you can upload these days and the fact YouTube does it's own thing to the video file anyway, is 2 pass encoding a little redundant these days? Am I just better off using a higher constant bitrate and this is why Resolve perhaps doesn't have 2 pass encoding, or am I just being an idiot and unable to find it? How much sense does it make if I were to export using something like DNxHR and then using handbrake (or similar) to do a 2 pass render? Also am I mixing up encoding and render as terms, I feel like I might be....
jonpais
@Grumble Have you tried just dragging and dropping your file into YT? I've used handbrake and MPEGStreamclip before, but they look no better, and MPEGStreamclip was altering the color of my uploads.
