Administrators Andrew Reid Posted September 18, 2017 Administrators Share Posted September 18, 2017 The forum software upgraded from 4.1 to 4.2 and completely changed the theme unexpectedly. In fact I'm so annoyed at Invision about this that I may migrate the community to XenForo from the current ip Board software entirely. Any thoughts on alternative forum systems? Any other forums out there you enjoy using, with a clear and modern design but lots of features?
jonpais
@Andrew Reid ha, I thought it looked nice and clean, but I'm no web designer.

Samin
Moving to XenForo is good move. For one local forum my friend and I had also transition during years from vBulletin -> IP Board -> XenForo and we couldn't be happier with XenForo! so far so good. tweak
New forum looks horrible imo. Much prefer the old style.
Administrators Andrew Reid Posted September 18, 2017 Author Administrators Share Posted September 18, 2017 I've cleaned up the theme and it looks much better now. Let's see how it goes. Moving to new forum software is a massive job so I'll put it off for now!
Fritz Pierre
I would just stay with this....it takes a couple of days to get used to, and then it just becomes the norm....curiously though, it signed me out and I had to request/submit a new password. Bizz
Its not that bad. I prefer the other theme (probably because i was used to it) but this one is ok.
Fritz Pierre
I'm also noticing that every time I visit the site, it requires me to sign in again?....And yes, I already have the remember me box ticked off.
no_connection
I find is a little hard on the eyes, so much white everywhere. Maybe bring the intensity of the background down a tiny bit? EthanAlexander
EthanAlexander
Oh man, so much better with the grey background!
Administrators Andrew Reid Posted September 18, 2017 Author Administrators Share Posted September 18, 2017 Yeah I'm dialing down the insane amount of white. Why is it nobody can design things anymore... UPDATE: Getting there now... made some more tweaks and I'm starting to like things more. jonpais and no_connection
Liam
So now that you can "react" instead of just "like".. does a "confused" reaction, for example, still contribute to the reputation points of the member who made the post? Just curious; seems like it probably shouldn't work that way. jonpais and Juxx989 1
jonpais
@Liam I just tested it out on you, it has no effect on your reputation.
