Jon Foy
Does anyone know of a reason to avoid the Nikon 50mm F/1.8 G as a taking lens? (And go with the D version instead?) I'm looking for a Nikon 50mm, and the F/1.8 G just seems like the obvious low-price choice but I don't see it mentioned anywhere as a taking lens, so I'm wondering if there's some issue I'm not aware of. The aperture should be controllable through the Speedbooster, or maybe there is some other down side I'm missing? I'm using a GH5 > .64 Speedbooster > Ultra Star Thanks
Spgreen65
I use the 50mm 1.8D as the taking lens with my Slr Magic 1.33 40 anamorphot and the xl speed booster. No issues.
Jon Foy
Thanks Spgreen65. I think it's the G versus D version that might be an issue. At any rate, it's inexpensive so I went ahead and ordered the 50mm 1.8 G. I'll report back whether it works.
IshootbeforeItalk
50mm on a speedbooster xl is very wide, what scope are you planning to use?
Jon Foy
The Isco Ultra Star. I'm still waiting on my clamp but when I hold it in place it seems like it should work.
