In 1080p its a macroblocked mess ! @kaylee thinking about ditching my bmpcc and micros for a 5d3. How is the lowlight? And have you tried 60fps? Haven't used ml since i had an eosm. Trying to see if I can borrow this cam
kidzrevil
@andrgl the low light is so so. The luminance noise is tolerable but that chroma noise can get annoying. Its best to denoise the shadows or crush them

webrunner5
What lens Kid? Not too wild about the bokeh in the background. I don't know I find it distracting. Colors look damn good on it though.
kidzrevil
@webrunner5 it was the nikkor auto 35mm f1.4 and 55mm f1.2 , you probably dont likethe bokeh on the f1.2 .

kidzrevil
@kaylee I love it ! Its a big difference than what you can do in 8 & 10 bit ! I need to play around with the 12 bit feature a lil more though. The file sizes in 14 bit are insane
TwoScoops
How long can you get on 128/256 cards in 14-bit?
mercer
128 will give you about 25min TwoScoops and kidzrevil

kidzrevil
@kye I can’t share the in’s and out’s of it because it is for a service I offer my clients. I can say however it involves a very tedious process of employing the right combination of upscaling, noise reduction, sharpening & grain. If done right you can increase the perceived detail of the image and the bitrate when streaming online

kidzrevil
@kye exactly ! I would say though if you follow the rescaling, noise reduction, sharpening & grain method you can come up with your own cocktail so to speak. You can stylize your sharpening, grain etc. or use it to optimize the image for grading and web compression

I still haven't found a camera that can match the color, detail, motion cadence of the 5DMK3 in raw unless I want to spend a fortune. Canon could really truly rule everyone if they wanted. It's such a tragedy. :-( kaylee, kye, kidzrevil and 1 other

Canon 70-200mm f2.8 II and I think the 24-70mm f2.8. Definitely the 70-200 on the closeups. The first 3 shot were mirror reflection shots. If they could stabilize the live view the 5D3 would be a beast. webrunner5

Considering what you'd have to pay to get equivalent image quality, maybe there's budget for a gimbal in there?
