I sort of like the SSD solution of the BMCC over the new PK4. But you can buy the PK4 used for probably the same price. I would take the PK4. Well there are no extreme highlights. I think the way it is graded helps too.

Emanuel
@Newway12 Enjoy your purchase because you won't find any other similar camera out there for a simple reason, it doesn't exist... : -)
webrunner5
Well this is pretty damn interesting.
Emanuel
Yeah, as much as 10 bucks will always be 10 bucks, it doesn't matter if you have there in your bank account more 999,990 or only 90... ; ) Enough for a Pizza Margherita, but still depends where ; -)

IR pollution is definitely still a problem with this camera. You can clearly see it at 3:58. This can lead to all kinds of weird problems with the image, but most noticeably problems with black fabrics.

It's easy to make the better camera look like the worst one in the grade by crushing the blacks. maxmizer
webrunner5
Yeah but it is pretty amazing how far an iPhone has come. And now with the new iPhone XS with the extended DR mode, it would be even closer in good light. Now the new ones even have the new DoF thingy you can change in post. What blacks? They look brown to me. ? Interesting that people have claimed the IR pollution is gone. You can see it right there, clear as day. Has anyone else tested this? Shirozina
I like the IR pollution - it's more filmic and cinematic BenEricson, TurboRat, graphicnatured and 1 other

Can anyone recommend a external display for the Cinema 4K I don’t need recording. The small HD focus monitor is fantastic, great options, touchscreen, great price as well. thebrothersthre3
Iphone was blowing out a lot more and looked sharper. The motion looked better on the black magic for me as well, noticeable when the bird was splashing in the water. That said at first I thought it was a comparison between the original pocket and the 4k, and I thought the B cam was the 4k lol.
webrunner5
This is a comparison of the iPhone X compared to the new XS Plus. Wow the DR is tons better using the HDR mode. Overall it is Way better video, photo wise over the X. Amazing difference. These cell phones are advancing at a crazy rate. So this shootout between the PK4 and the iPhone would have been even closer with the XS one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Nfvl3NLsDc
thebrothersthre3
Definitely impressive, though when taking it into post they aren't gonna hold up too well.
Kubrickian
If you have to do any kind of serious iPhone work I highly recommend the filmic pro app. You can even shoot in log. BenEricson
