Canon, Nikon have sort of used the latter to good use for many years. I don’t own any OIS lenses. Oh, wait! I have one! ?

They're great : ) My 1st one was the 24-105 f/4 and I actually recall I even posted on dvxuser a non-scientific test I made in Germany I remind now... ten years ago hehe just remember ;-) IBIS is another class though. Nothing a gimbal won't work out anyway. IQ 12-bit RAW will be the paramount here. BMD color science matches fulfilling the combo, as well, the 4/3" format IMO. I guess so. But never tested it, so no opinion about. Even though, I've read some jerky corrections may introduce any noise to the complement. Well, just wondering now... It is considered to be the sharpest kit lens Panny ever made. And the one I have is crazy good sharpness wise, and it is pretty amazing how well the OIS works in it. I can't believe how they got the OIS so good on one of the first lenses they made using it. I have a Sony 28-70mm, my son has the Sony 16-35mm F4 lens and they both have OSS.And I have 3 Canon lenses with imagine stabilization in them. The 10-22mm EFS one and my 28-70mm Canon works great on my A7s. So I have a pretty good mix of lens that work pretty good handheld.

Emanuel
In fact, Don. These major players are tough manufacturers. Their glass never disappoints, at least to me :-) I fully agree on that one, Jon. We live great times... My own expectations in 2001 when HDCAM arrived (and put my plans out of film path) have been beaten indeed. I personally heard Tonino Guerra to tell me and a few other people there that those Japanese cameras were the future. Michelangelo Antonioni dreamed with when he shot The Mystery of Oberwald two and a half decades before. Pity he had no chance to be with us nowadays. That is true. I just bought this used Tripod on ebay yesterday. My other tripod was on the heavy side. Like twice the weight, 12 pounds so this ought to help. You know I am a Tripod guy, so a lot of this IBIS stuff I don't have a lot of use for. But I do want to buy the new 4K BMPCC so will be using my Came TV Gimbal with it. Should fit on it I hope. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Manfrotto-Pro-351MVCF-Carbon-Fiber-Tripod-Legs-With-Spreader-75mm-Mount/312103981174?epid=97374713&hash=item48aad8d076:g:5L0AAOSwlO1axp1Q#viTabs_0

But some handheld or rig stuff with a little movement can really breathe some life into the shots.
RWR
Not understanding that BMD discussion wrt timecode. It accepts it in but doesn't jam to it..preset only? So...has to be continuously fed by a tentacle, mozegear or similar box? That would be standard op for most..but most cams need to be switched to free run (as opposed to preset) for that to work. jonpais
TLDR; are there physical dials for aperture and shutter speed/angle?
Don Kotlos
There is one dial at the front. Since I didn't spot anything in the menus, I am guessing for the time being it is just for the aperture. jonpais
jonpais
That would be enough.
