artiswar
Delved into this for a bit and built a nice set of bloomy organic taking lenses. My picks so far. Zeiss Biotar 58mm f2 (black m42 version) - sharp, beautiful bokeh, not too clinical. Kiev 8b 65mm f3.5 for Salyut 88 - such a hard focal length to find but sometimes it’s perfect. Slow, and so so bokeh, but a nice flat focal length Meyer Optik Primoplan 75mm f1.9 - essentially the softer, longer cousin of the biotar. Lots of blades, gorgeous bokeh, and a great anamorphic focal length. I got the black reissue used on BH for $1000 and the classic Jupiter 9 for the 85mm. Love the softness. (was trying to embed a really nice video, but poster has restricted it - check it out, it certainly has opened my eyes to a set of lenses) vimeo.com/264306448 Wow! GREAT idea! I will now have to find my Mamiya 645 85/1.9 N lens. I also have the wonderful Mirex EOS/ Mamiya 645 tilt/shift adapter. This combo with my Metabones 0.67 XL Speedbooster should be interesting. webrunner5
buggz
Okay, found my Mamiya stuffz. The lens is labeled Mamiya-Sekor C 80/1.9 N, not 85mm, as I remembered wrong... I also see I have two copies of the great Minolta 85/1.7, the older all metal PG version, and a newer Rokkor X version. And... wait for it, my ol' Conurus EOS converted Contax 85 N ! Autofocus! Let the Frankenstein rigged builds begin!

Post some footage once you're done experimenting - I'd love to see some more stuff done with these lenses, as they look really promising. DIGICHombre
I have a voitlander 75mm f/1.8 that works very well with an anamorphic, specifically Kowa C-35. On full frame Sony A7 series there was no vignetting. The one big catch is this lens was meant for rangefinder cameras I believe, so slapping it on a foal reducer on a crop sensor effectively turns it into a macro lens, and quite unusable. Haven't yet tried on Canon, or any other body yet. All I know is it needs to get pretty close to the sensor. Great photo lens nonetheless. heart0less
@brianmcall, if I may suggest something - both ISCO and Schneider Cinelux 75/2 seem to be much better choice than LOMO. Take a look here: And if you're interested, I have a spare ISCO 75/2 for sale.

When you say ISCO and Cinelux seem to be "better", well that is very subjective. I'm not looking for modern sharpness and I'm certainly not looking for a projector lens with a fixed aperture. heart0less
Sure, no problem. 5 minutes ago, brianmcall said: I'm certainly not looking for a projector lens with a fixed aperture. Sorry, I thought for a moment that you were referring to Lomo 35KP lenses, which are projector lenses. Haven't heard of OKC series before, my bad. arant.joseph
Any thoughts on a good taking lens to help fix my infinity focus issue? Thanks in advance...
