amsh89es335
So last night I was using my GH5s, elgato gaming hdmi to usb device and my laptop for a facebook live stream. I was using the OBS software for live streaming and everything worked out pretty well. But I was thinking of using my laptop and the capture device as a on set monitor when I need to pack light. Is there any software like OBS but just for viewing with monitor tools. I want to be able to have histograms, peaking, wave forums and zebras but be independent from the camera operator? no_connection
I played around a bit with Resolve and you can get some tools with live feed. But it's not a lite solution. If you manage to find some pixel shaders to do the calculations in youc ould use MPC-HC or similar that supports running pixel shaders. andrgl

This is my current solution. Using a tower with Nvidia 1080 TI FE, Blackmagic DeckLink Mini Recorder 4K and Mini Monitor 4K. Using a custom built cart for DIT. I welded 3 monitor mounts to the frame. It's big, clunky and a pain to deal with. Can only use it in the studio, too much headache for field use. But Resolve Live is powerful and has the features I need. I would love to replace this setup with a laptop. Would need a SDI to USB device for it to work. Edit: UltraStudio Mini Recorder with a Thunderbolt capable laptop. Edit 2: Mini Recorder can't do 1080p60. Edit 3: Magwell USB Capture SDI Gen 2, supports 1080p60 and uses USB3.
no_connection
Pocket UltraScope if you want to buy some hardware. But then again bmd and drivers have never been a good thing.
