Uh Free Lightroom?. Hmm isn't free now. It was. How about these? https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/12/technology/personaltech/editing-raw-ipad.html This one looks like a winner to me. Think I will get that one myself! https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/photo/ipad/
Phil A
I think Adobe Lightroom Mobile is free if you can live without some of the functionalities. I have the Adobe Photography subscription and use Adobe Lightroom Mobile a lot for social media activity. I just wish it wouldn't always try to sync all my stuff into the cloud, which I just don't want.
Dan Wake
I wish to ask you... I feel that when I rise up the shadows with "other apps" that the shadows tend to be gray with low contrast, while lightroom can light the shadows without wahing out the contrast/saturation. is it just my perception or it's true? thx
Phil A
What kind of files do you edit? Is it JPEGs, DNG shot with the mobile device or raw files you transfer to the device? With JPEGs there's only so much you can do, might be that black/white already clips. DNG shot with the mobile device (e.g. shot with the Lightroom app and set to DNG) are obviously quite a bit better but also don't have too much dynamic range. With raw files imported to the iPad from my camera I feel like it's more or less identical to editing them on my computer with regards to fixing exposure weaknesses. If you feel that other apps give you less leeway with raw files, maybe those apps can't actually edit the raw file but use the embedded JPEG preview? Anaconda_
Check out the app Polarr - it's really easy to use and has a tonne of great features, including things like making eyes bigger, noses smaller etc. Quite fun to mess about with, and can be used very tastefully for a number of things if that's what you're into. You can also save your presets if you make a look you like for a certain lighting, and you can import LUTs- and of course batch processing. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/polarr-photo-editor/id988173374?mt=
Trek of Joy
Snapspeed edits raws and its free. Haven't used it since the latest LR mobile update as I have the $10/mo photo plan, so I can't speak to the latest version. Chris
Dan Wake
@Anaconda_ I did a test, it 's a very nice app and I wish to buy it but it's not possible to do it: the complete version it's only monthly or annual subscription. I wish an app to buy or free that have not the need to pay again every year. Do you have another suggestion please? edit. the app does not support raw, it open a raw image and convert it to jpeg https://www.polarr.co/wiki/support/Miscellaneous.html they are working on it @Phil A I edit only raw files in ipad, i took them from my dslr canon 7d, I use a connection cable to do it. I plug the dslr directly into the ipad and I transfer the raw pics into the ipad hdd. @Trek of Joy thx I tested "Snapspeed", it's nice, very essential but I can't really use it for raw pics because it lacks the color noise reduction, and for 7D raw images it's really necessary. Perhaps you can edit your original post to reflect more specific criteria? You didn't mention color NR before. I think if that's what you're looking for, your options are fairly limited. Affinity has an iPad app, but its $20. They claim its a full blown photo editor, but I've never tried it to see. https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/photo/ipad/ Chris

I did a test on my pc before buying the app: lightroom vs affinity with raw pics. in all the samples I tested (all raw pics from canon 7D) affinity show very unnatural color rendition with a really strong magenta cast. If i try to correct it adding some "green" I loose completely the skin tones, I can show a sample below. this was just pc (the beta version), maybe they sorted out the problem on ipad or the non beta PC version (Serif Affinity Photo 1.6.5.112 Beta June 18)
Anaconda_
I just found this app: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cascable-wifi-camera-remote/id974193500?mt=8 It's free for a lot of features, but for raw you need the 'Pro' package. You can get a free trial of 'Pro' to use for a few days, and if you like it, you can choose between monthly subscriptions ($2) or out right purchase for $30 - it's a little steep, so I suggest making the most of those 3 days and really get to know the features to figure out if it's worth it to you. It's also got lots of other great features for wifi cameras, but I"m not sure how useful they are with a 7d
