Mako Sports
I stopped caring about Canon when the 5Dmk4 came out but this seems interesting.. Competes with the new Sony PXW Z280

As a tool for doing the job the price is fine. This is a proper professional camcorder delivering broadcast ready 4K@50p HDR 4:2:2 10-bit video for less than the price of the car the camera operator drove to get to the gig. Administrators Andrew Reid Posted September 12, 2018 Administrators Share Posted September 12, 2018 Nigelbb is almost a Bob Dylan level artist. I remember when Dylan calculated in his head the cost of the car to get him to the gig. And in-between writing lyrics he obsessed about the cost of his guitar and whether it would be accepted by his clients.
Jimbo
If I were in the market for an all-in-one video camera, then this looks excellent. I do sometimes get to a point of complete saturation in the pursuit of the perfect camera setup for all my work and think about throwing the towel in and buying something like this!!! I was seriously considering the Panasonic AG-DVX200 at one point. But there was something weird about the image... Image looks great here. Jadesroom
$7000? I know the OP referenced the Z280, but it also sounds like the Z90 for an extra $4000

Just pick up a Sony EX1 and be done with all this camera nonsense for another decade! Jimbo

Mokara
This camera probably won't be used by most people here, but it does point at the sorts of capabilities we might expect in the next crop of Cx00 cameras. Most notably is the 160 mbps H.265 encoder.

nigelbb
If the cost of the XF705 is a bit rich for your blood the new JVC GY-HC500 at half the price (£3395+tax) might be for you. It also has a 1" sensor & can record 4K@50pHDR 4:2:2 10-bit video plus has a 20x power zoom. Interestingly it can record to SSD. https://www.newsshooter.com/2018/09/11/jvc-gy-hc500-gc550/ https://cvp.com/product/jvc-gy-hc500-connected-cam Stryfe and Alt Shoo

Hoping they will bring this option or something better to a new cinema camera or even the Jvc gy-ls300.
