That's already much better than the pretentious random promotional B$ they served up before.

Haven't seen any European listings yet... but is it true that it's $199 or €199 for the V-LOG upgrade package for the Lumix S. But the lens instead of translating from $1799 to €1799 is actually €1999 (~ $2239)? ?

Year, the European price is sort of smack in the face of everyone except Americans. Talking about racial discrimination.

Probably less to do with racial discrimination and more to do with economics and taxes. Although, sadly, sometimes those come in a package. ?

Reviews are out already?! I didn't even realise the lens had been released by Panasonic yet.

Oh and it's not better than a prime.

F1.7 is cute but there's:

Voigtlander 10.5mm F0.95
Voigtlander 17.5mm F0.95
Voigtlander 25mm F0.95

Also, I really do highly rate the Olympus F1.2 primes (17mm and 25mm)

That Panasonic 12mm F1.4 is a gem and a lot smaller.

Not bashing it, just cutting through the hype machine a bit.

Will be interesting to see how it compares to the Sigma 18-35mm on a Speed Booster.

It releases July 25th I believe. So I bet shipments are being made to distributors and to reviewers.

I think it’s aimed at video people and the 18-35. The Voigtlanders are indeed nice and have more character but they are manual only, cost $2600 to cover the same focal range and need to be swapped out.

Im excited to have something like this with AF, click-less aperture, and very limited focus breathing (not sure if the Voigtlander have that). Can wait to slap a promist filter to soften the sharpness and see what it can do.

I really want this lens but the price is just too much for my blood until I see what the future holds for M43 as a whole.

I wonder how corner stabilization is on the wide end in video. This is my only complaint about Panasonic IBIS. You get a lot of wobble with super wide lenses.

I thought it was fixed with v2.3?
