I just asked Deane and Andrew on that video on their youtube channel and they said they were 100% sure that Auto ISO is not smooth. They are wrong, it is smooth, I have the camera. Auto iris is the one that's stepped.

Thanks for the input. If you could post any type of footage with auto ISO, that would be wonderful. Also, does the X-T3 have any kind of memory recall at all??? I shoot stills on my Sony a6500 where I have one memory set to five bracketed exposures using the electronic shutter, and one memory with a single exposure with mechanical shutter at -1.7 EV. I can use the drive mode dial to switch easily between memory 1 and memory 2 in an instant. Is that something I could do on an X-T3??? Thanks in advance for any help with this. I am using auto ISO at 2:37, no dramatic lighting changes but you can see it a bit.
Attila Bakos
This one is specifically about auto ISO:
no_connection
It does show the auto iris being very ugly, and autofocus hunting and being very ugly. The slider shot looks so bad. Simon Young

The slider shot looks so bad. There is nothing about auto iris in that video, it's about auto iso. And if you disregard that slider shot, there is nothing ugly about auto iso. The slider shot is distracting because of AF problems. Maarten Heilbron did a better auto iso test which I linked a few posts before. no_connection
I replayed it several times and it looks wierd cause of the clipped bright sky background being suddenly blurred out. And not iris change, my mistake.
