Django
Yeah I guess Kipon have got that CaNikon smart adapter for Z mount but no NiCanon for RF yet huh? As for speedbooster mount well yeah EF to RF definitely.. a lot of manual EF cine glass to choose from too. Nikon for me would also be nice (mostly got AIS & AF-D glass). Django
I guess an RF to RF speedbooster could potentially also be interesting to take advantage of the new RF glass but so you could pop on other adapters on top no?
Super Members Mattias Burling Posted March 4, 2019 Super Members Share Posted March 4, 2019 Don't see how that would even work.
Django
sorry i don't know that much about speedboosters but i was thinking something that would allow for example: EOS R >> RF to RF Speedbooster >> EF to RF Vari-ND adapter >> EF lens & EOS R >> RF to RF Speedbooster >> RF lens
Super Members Mattias Burling Posted March 4, 2019 Super Members Share Posted March 4, 2019 The speedbooster needs to sit within the flange distance. Like any adapter the lens must be for a mount with a longer flange than the camera. RF and RF has the same distance so the speedbooster must be a maximum of 0mm thick. Django
@Mattias Burling Any word on Kipon about a EF-RF Speedbooster? In other news Canon just announced Eye-AF & Subject Tracking improvement firmware: DBounce and Snowbro

Guess that would only work in (video) crop mode which might be too small a market. Maybe if a APS-C sensor RF mount comes out we will see a EF-RF speed booster. I collaborated with someone and we had an A73 and EOS R - the colors were easy enough to match but the Sony footage was WAY more detailed and even after adding sharpening to the Canon footage it was noticeably softer. We shot 1080p60 mostly, with in camera sharpening turned down all the way.
nathlas
what about 4k?

I had a73 and R myself too, i dunno about you but i can mix R's 1080p with c200/c100ii and no body tells the difference, a73 is a bit harder because of colour difference hence i sold it later. A6x00's 1080p is really soft which the difference is much more obvious.
