lucabutera
Maybe he will be able to shoot in full frame 4k raw? Or a fabulous 60fps raw? This magic lantern make the Eos aboRtioncamera look interesting too!
mercer
Damn, I know it’s early but this is pretty exciting. I am going to have a little extra spending money in a few months. In the back of my mind, I was considering picking up a 5D4 while I had the money in hopes that ML would crack it eventually... maybe I’ll buy the EOS-R instead. Drew Allegre
I guess the immediate question in my mind is what is the max card writing speed on the EOS R? ML could definitely make this a much more interesting camera.
ajay
I wonder however if the read-speed of the sensor is baked in. If so, you will never get rid of the severe rolling shutter. lucabutera
kaylee
Quote The next firmware update “RLEDID14.FIR” was successfully loaded by the boot loader and firmware update program in the EOS R from the Canon firmware update menu. This is big news because it means Magic Lantern code was able to execute on the EOS R as normal. WHAAAAAT NOOO WAY SO SOON OMGZ?!?!? GREAT WORK GUYS AWESOMEEEE i didnt even have a chance to write a post about how insanely disappointing this frankencamera is thank you for your sacrifice Andrew!!! it is clearly God's will that you bought this camera at this very moment. worst case scenario, you could get one of those long haired guinea pigs to sail on it. theyre pretty cool tweak
Administrators Andrew Reid Posted October 17, 2018 Author Administrators Share Posted October 17, 2018 What a wonderful guinea pig. Imagine it squeaking as it sails off to Canon Island. Vision, tweak, noplz and 1 other 2

Noob question, I thought a bricked camera could always be recovered by Canon service by replacing the chip or motherboard even if you had to pay for it. I've never had that problem with Magic Lantern, so I don't know.
