Super Members BTM_Pix Posted October 18, 2018 Super Members Share Posted October 18, 2018 Kipon has announced it is has shipped its first batch of adapters for the new cameras. A very extensive range too and the standout for me is the C/Y adapter for the Z as you will finally be able to use the Contax Zeiss lenses on a Nikon without the shenanigans involved with Leitax mods or the 1.4x optical correctors like the Fotodiox. Interesting to see them talk of focal reducers on their way soon as well. If one of them is an EF to R version then it will be a way of getting some of the full frame FOV back off Canon in 4K mode http://www.kipon.com/en/articledetail.asp?id=
Super Members Mattias Burling Posted October 18, 2018 Super Members Share Posted October 18, 2018 If I keep my EOS-R I will review one of the reducers. When I spoke to them he said something like a total of 100 new adapters in the making. They have also released the beta firmware I was testing on the EF-Fuji speedbooster. Administrators Andrew Reid Posted October 18, 2018 Administrators Share Posted October 18, 2018 Mr Kipon is a nice guy. I met him at Photokina! The range of adapters they had there was incredible. The great thing about Kipon is that they had lots of more obscure mounts and combinations, there's some real photographic enthusiasm there and it's not all about quantity and $$. Meanwhile, a bit concerned about Metabones. They've been very quiet on the release front. No EOS R Speed Booster from them? Would like to see more of those Caldwell Optics - superb! Nikkor
@Brian Caldwell doesn't want to make medium format speedboosters ?
JurijTurnsek
Jesus F Christ, enough with the speedboosters for the R. Just wait for a full sensor read-out model. Do guys absolutely hate DPAF and value bad RS as a "creative tool"? Canon slaps you in the face with a severely compromised body and you bitch and moan about it. Then you turn your back and apply every band-aid and ointment to it that would somehow make it "the body that was promised". You should reward other OEMs instead aka take you business elsewhere. A speed booster will be a full $3500 cheaper than Canon's hypothetical full sensor readout EOS R2 and probably 2 years earlier as well You can wait and pay if you want. I'm ready for it NOW.
