Administrators Andrew Reid Posted November 8, 2018 Administrators Share Posted November 8, 2018 Wonderful video. I'll probably subscribe to his channel. How about this for a future trick - Project the medium format lens onto ground glass and behind that put two vertical GH5S in 4:3 side by side. One can capture the full height and half the width of the left side of the image and one can do the same but for the right side. Merge in post for 8K medium format!? Sliding the camera along like his rig was a great experiment in the lab and result was beautiful, but tricky to use for anything that moves. Oh and by the way - his vintage projector is a thing of beauty isn't it!? webrunner5, kye and AlexTrinder96
maxmizer
I was thinking more about a prism solution, similar to shooting in 3D.
Administrators Andrew Reid Posted November 8, 2018 Administrators Share Posted November 8, 2018 Yeah, might work. It depends if you want the look of Alexa 65 or the 8K / 12k resolution as well. If you just want the look, then the ground glass would work or even a medium format Speed Booster for Pentax 645 to Sony full frame E-mount. Mmmbeats
He's a good thinker. He's inspired me to want to try shifting the battery from the rig to a hip (belt bag) mount, which was something else I noticed him do in the past.
no_connection
I have wanted to do this for a long time!
wolf33d
The difference is huge. Panasonic "XT3" specs with GoPro 7 like stabilization, Medium Format organic sensor and 8K60P, here we come 2025.

A massively cheaper and easier approach to simulate the "Arri 65 look".
Administrators Andrew Reid Posted November 12, 2018 Administrators Share Posted November 12, 2018 I just received my Kipon. I'll be reviewing it this week on the Nikon Z7. E-mount version is the same glass. IronFilm and Nikkor
