jasonmillard81
So I pulled the trigger on a 5d3. My Rokinon 85 1.4 and tamron 17-50 for my 60d won't work. Any suggestions for video? Prime vs Zoom? Tamron 24-70 looks like a good deal? also can I get good audio with rode ntg2 directly into camera? Or should I keep it going into my h4n? any good mono pods ? Is manfrotto the on,y viable option? Julian
Rokinon 85mm 1.4 works fine on fullframe! The 24-70 2.8 with IS sounds good to me. Get some cheap manual primes and adapters on eBay.
jasonmillard81
Julian thanks :) any advice on cheap primes? edit: and their corresponding adapters?
Lukas
LEICA R! Not exactly cheap but a really good bang for the buck if you consider the lenses performance(s)! Here is a good list of lenses and which ones work on fullframe: http://www.pebbleplace.com/Personal/Leica_db.html You will need adapters, the best ones (but fixed as far as I know) are from Leitax. A good alternative would be the Novoflex adapters. These primes perform incredibly well. Only have one so far (the 50mm 2.0 Summicron), but it is simply great! And if you have the extra cash you can let them be cine modded at Duclos lenses (adding gears, smooth, dampened aperture etc.). A cheap alternative would be some old Zeiss M42 lenses. Just look em up on ebay and you will find a lot of em. I got the 35mm 2.4 Flektogon and it is indeed quite lovely! Hope this helped.
