Emanuel
Yeah... and their sub-brand in the meantime: https://www.androidauthority.com/redmi-note-8-pro-price-release-date-availability-1032352/ And here's a link with information for the different resolution details: https://www.livemint.com/technology/tech-news/what-s-behind-xiaomi-and-realme-s-new-64mp-108mp-cameras-1565505123682.html
Amazeballs
Why do they both (Samsung and Sony) have that licencing resrtiction for their sensor tech? I want to see this 108 mpx sensor in something like Osmo pocket and a drone.
JurijTurnsek
I'm just here waiting for some brand to stop fucking around and offer 48mpx on all (but selfie) modules - upping the specs of the main camera only is such a marketing ploy. Make devices that offer consistent experience on all modules. However, even Apple has gimped their wide-angle module, so there's little chance of an all around impressive package from cheaper brands. JurijTurnsek
Jesus fucking christ, what amazing journalism from Engadget: Quote While the phone's defining characteristic is its wrap-around screen, it has another standout feature: a 108-megapixel camera that can capture photos with a 12,032 x 9,024 pixel resolution. That means it'll be able to take the same quality of pictures medium format cameras are capable of. https://www.engadget.com/2019/09/24/xiaomi-mi-mix-alpha-price-launch-date/ ntblowz, Juank, IronFilm and 2 others
ntblowz
At least sensor size is a lot bigger than ur average phone ones
Emanuel
But too expensive phone though... This bargain instead seems much more interesting nowadays once it is such optimized and uses camera 2 api resources: https://www.gsmarena.com/realme_5_pro-9801.php https://c.realme.com/in/post-details/1167656766121443328 Here's a curious comparison with two other strong Redmi & Huawei contenders: And here's the 64MP version: https://www.xda-developers.com/realme-xt-64mp-camera-comparison-48mp-5-pro/ I think I'll get one. Who resists to not buy one?
Emanuel
LOL Well, I meant to resist and not buy or who can say no about taking one...? ; ) I'd be buying the Realme... if they had implemented the 800 MHz band to cover the European carriers. Emanuel
Forget that strange pinky karma to become sorta orange and teal by default over there you can retract even in-camera and let's give a chance from this new mobile device -- just needs the user to bring it to life: shooter
IronFilm
On 8/6/2019 at 11:41 PM, JurijTurnsek said: I am really disappointed that Sony still hasn't produced an RX smartphone like the CM1. Customers are on a longer upgrade cycle, so they could have it as a flagship for a longer period nowadays. Photography enthusiasts basically have no options but to argue about the same few tiny Sony sensors in an ocean of different bodies and different post processing. I'd have loved a Sony RX with a 1" sensor and a prime lens such as the CM1 has. (I don't even mind if it was a smartphone or not) Would have made for an even more compact and more robust camera than the already small RX100 by putting a prime lens on it. Emanuel
Yesterday October 10, OnePlus 7T Pro was announced. Same 7T Snapdragon 855+ processor and 90Hz display refresh rate features as well same multiple camera lenses setup from 7 Pro with 73.7mm 2.87x 8MP telephoto (vs 51.37mm 1.99x 12MP for 7T version). https://www.notebookcheck.net/Chinese-leak-claims-Qualcomm-s-Snapdragon-865-SoC-may-launch-next-month.437967.0.html @2160p low light video https://www.gsmarena.com/vidcmp.php3?idType=5&idPhone1=9689&idPhone2=9535&idPhone3=9635 https://www.gsmarena.com/vidcmp.php3?idType=5&idPhone1=9770&idPhone2=9846&idPhone3=9816 OnePlus 7 Pro OnePlus 7T Samsung Galaxy S10+ Huawei P30 Pro Asus ROG Phone II iPhone 11 Pro Max greenscreen
Emanuel
Another surprising curiosity to evaluate at those gsmarena camera samples is the fact the glass or the way its design is implemented, at least, in such tiny form factor on the 7T basis model seems actually better than the Pro version from same 2160p low light video outcome, respectively: https://www.gsmarena.com/vidcmp.php3?idType=5&idPhone1=9623&idPhone2=9689 greenscreen
