thephoenix
https://www.wd.com/products/internal-ssd/wd-black-sn750-nvme-ssd.html#WDS100T3XHC the good news: new m2 ssd from wd comes cheap compare to previous ones and is pretty fast. will be great for 4k or even bigger files. supposed to be 3 470mo/s in reading mode and 3000 mo/s in sequential writting mode. comes also with an optiona l radiator. 249$ for the 1to i think is a fair price for new product

Mokara
My understanding was that anything other than Samsung (preferably the pro line) was lesser. WD are not a memory manufacturer, they are just a generic when it comes to SSDs.

I still buy Samsung (I still have 4 NX cameras, go figure!), but the latest developments have shrunk, or completely eliminated the Samsung advantage. Go give it a read foe the details. Mokara
https://www.pcmag.com/roundup/361090/the-best-pci-express-nvme-solid-state-drives-ssds I would still stick with the Samsung though, even though the new HP version is not bad (as long as you get one of the larger capacity models). Remember that the 970 has been out for quite some time, there will probably be a next gen model in 2019.

Irrespective, Sandisk relied on third parties for their disk controllers, which always put them behind Samsung and Intel when it came to SSDs.
