Administrators Andrew Reid Posted June 6, 2013 Administrators Share Posted June 6, 2013 Panasonic are doing some restructuring. Good to see them concentrate on the GH3 and enhancing uniqueness. I'm very curious to hear what 'lenses for motion picture' involves exactly.
Julian
I'm not sure If I can see high flame rates as an advantage though... Don't really understand that slide. It says 19 pieces of 'lenses for motion picture' as of may 30 and 'most lenses for mirrorless cameras'. Looks like it's about their current mft glass? Interesting to see the big companies cutting down on compact cameras. It's pretty obvious of course, but now you see them openly talking about it. Olympus recently shot down their complete low level V series. Fujifilm plans to halve it's compact camera line: http://www.amateurphotographer.co.uk/photo-news/539755/fujifilm-to-cut-compact-camera-line-by-
Chrad
Makes me keen to see what they come out with for the GH5. As for motion picture glass, they're probably talking more about lenses you'd want for a documentary than lenses you'd use for fiction. E.g. the 35-100 f/2.8. Sharp, stabilised, constant zoom, etc.
andy lee
I do hope thay release some pro style lenses especially constant apperture zooms , maybe an L Series type line ?? who knows! Im currently using alot of old Canon FD Zooms on Panasonic Cameras - so a new range of Panasonic zooms would be nice like Fujinon and Angenieux made for film cameras but in Micro 4/3 ........... one can only wish!!
