Super Members BTM_Pix Posted March 18, 2019 Author Super Members Share Posted March 18, 2019 VERSION 1.2 RELEASED Version 1.2 of 3C has been released into the Play store today. It adds support for the Blackberry KeyOne/Key2 devices for controlling the camera from the integrated physical keyboard as well as the touch screen. The scan process has also been enhanced to allow filtering of device names for easier camera selection when 3C is used in environments that have large number of Bluetooth LE devices active. MeanRevert
Hi BTM_Pix, When I went looking for your app today, I noticed a couple of other Blackmagic Pocket 4K remote apps there. Can you tell me the difference between those and yours?
Super Members BTM_Pix Posted March 20, 2019 Author Super Members Share Posted March 20, 2019 I haven't used any of the other ones to be honest but at first glance I would say the preset memories for camera/focus settings and joystick integration would be a couple of differences. Hope that helps.

Super Members BTM_Pix Posted March 25, 2019 Author Super Members Share Posted March 25, 2019 Confirming that 3C is fully compatible with the new v3.1 update for the Metabones Smart Adapter so you can now use all of the focus control functions with your adapted EF lenses. I've been testing it today with a broad range of different types of EF lenses (Canon primes, Canon EF-S wide zoom, Canon long L zoom, Tamron superzoom and the Sigma ART18-35mm) and I have to say that the focus transitions are generally actually smoother than they are with most of the native MFT lenses. MeanRevert
Hey fellas - I'm looking to mount my phone onto a gimbal with this app to start/stop/adjust focus. Can someone recommend a mount? Thanks!
webrunner5
I have this one with the handle. I don't trust the ones with springs when you are talking over a 1,000 dollar phones now. And it comes with long and short rods to hold the wide or narrow phones. Damn well made on top of it. And the case is a nice touch also. I have used the heck out of mine, no problems. I keep it in my glove box I use it that much. https://www.amazon.com/RetiCAM-Smartphone-Tripod-Mount-Hand/dp/B00S4NB2IY/ref=sr_1_15?keywords=smartphone+holder+with+pistol+grip&qid=1555389802&s=gateway&sr=8-

How does that attach to the gimbal? Another mount?

I use a small Magic Arm at times. I can't live without Magic Arms of all sizes lol. They are a must have I think. I have used a double male adapter and used it in Portrait position at times on a gimbal also. Kind of strange at first using in that mode but makes for a narrower package. You might get by with a small ball head also. I steal the one off of my Aperture lights at times lol. Hell I will use baling wire if I have too! I have a crazy amount of Camera, Video gear, not many cameras, but a shitpot full of adapters, cables you name it. But I have been at this a Long time. I am bad at buying 4 at a time what i need instead of one. I am pretty damn hard on equipment. Everything to me is a tool, I am not married to it. Super Members BTM_Pix Posted May 2, 2019 Author Super Members Share Posted May 2, 2019 As a by-product of the JSC-1 interface that I have just completed for using with LumaFusion, it is also supported inside 3C to enable wireless lens and aperture control from a ShuttleXpress. The JSC-1 takes the USB from the ShuttleXpress and passes it wirelessly to 3C using Bluetooth LE. The inner wheel controls fine focus and the outer wheel coarse focus. The two outer buttons control aperture, the next two in control transition/snap focus to Memory Position A and B respectively and the centre button activates the one shot AF. The left outer button acts as a shift control to enable the writing of focus Memory Position A and B when used with the inner two buttons and as a Rec/Stop control with the centre button. It can be used handheld as here if on a tripod or being used by an assistant but we will be making a mount to mount it and the interface for rails as per a standard follow focus. Here is the interface in use with LumaFusion and I'll put something together with the Pocket4K if anyone is interested.
Huntson10
How is the update to include wireless video coming? I really want/need to see that. Also, a way to channel Bluetooth over wifi for longer range would be sweet.

I've narrowed the hardware down to a couple of options but the speed/cost balancing ratio may cool some people's passion for that functionality. If you have a device that can do split screen for apps then you can have it now with VLC and an off the shelf hdmi>wifi encoder. With regard to bluetooth over wifi, if you put a VNC server on the android device that you are running 3C on then you can control it over IP from anywhere on the same network or even from the other side of the world through the internet. How are you getting on with using the app by the way?

I really like this setup. Would love to use this mini gampad controller to attach to my Moza Air 2 gimbal. Does the app give custom setup options for the gamepad buttons? For example, I'd like to have Autofocus, Aperture, Iso, and Shutter controls on the 4 right buttons and the + and - of those settings on the directional button. Do you have a screen shot of the custom settings on the app? If this works well, I will have to purchase an android phone and gamepad. Currently, there is no controller solution for the gimbal and this would be the best way to do it.

These are the key mappings for the two joysticks (the 8Bitdo is the small one) As the 8Bitdo is mapped to be used in a vertical orientation, it will be as follows There is currently no option for re-mapping keys inside the application but it is something that could be incorporated into a future version. You might also want to keep an eye on our PBC controller as for gimbal use as although it is primarily designed as a Rec/Stop controller (plus one additional one shot function) and monitor, it will have an expansion option for additional hardware switches that you can map to aperture/iso etc. https://www.newsshooter.com/2019/06/22/cda-tek-pbc-pocket-bluetooth-controller-for-bmpcc-4k-ursa-mini-pro/ webrunner5 and Andrew Reid
