So why did you want to rehouse it and make it double focus.?

just askin'   :)

Hahahaha, good point.

I like it the way it is, I just think it can be improved (like almost anything else, even Iscos). And not so much "double focus" on the rehousing, but more of a "variable focus through" where the focus range isn't so limited without the diopters, nor so picky like a regular double focus lens. According to tests, you can 'set' the Panny to focus from X to Y meters, and rack focus only with the taking lens. :P

Why is that ? Only the center seems to be in focus ? Any help about this from you more experienced filmmakers ?

Thanks in advance,

as everyone knows LA7200 was built for AG DVX ...
is not compatible with all lenses,
is not compatible above the approximately 50mm,

is not compatible with some lenses because, the distance between the objective lens

and the lens of the LA7200 is too high (this is improved by putting a diopter from 0.25 or 0.50 between the lens and  LA7200 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ci_PM-g1K6c&list=SP219BA51EFE970B89&index=54 ).

What goes well with:
Panasonic is the best: 20mm F.1.7

but well with Canon 24-70 f2.8 or Sigma 24-70 f 2.8
Tokina 11-16

just try it

If you want, we do list, where it works well and where not

;)

I gotta get back my 0.25 diopter to test this!

Along the last year I've read multiple times that diopters between the anamorphic and taking lens would not work properly... I just got confused about maximum focusing distance (maybe I missed a line or so of what he said). It's limited within the diopter range, right?

ps - the LA7200 also performs very well combined with Canon 16-35mm f/2.8
