I think there has been around 4 price drops in the last week on the 5D Mark II. Now it is at $1999 for the first time. That is cheaper than some 2nd hand bodies on eBay.Read full article
moebius22
I guess it would be worth it if you needed an extra body. I'll be making purchase next year. I don't see the point in buying now, when superior tech is already out, or just around the corner.
rsquires
At some point this is going to be very tempting. The 5D is a phenomenal camera and it would be lovely to have access to it's amazing stills performance and low light video . Trouble is that would mean entering the world of Canon lenses and that's a sure fire way to empty the bank balance if you know what I mean
marino mannarini
I wish Vitaly could find a way to solve this crazy shadows locking issue in the compression...You really have no shoulder to work on in editing. Last night i was shooting in a Theatre, and i had to be very careful not to blow the higlights on actor's faces and white dresses, so i got very dark shadows in the background. I was using Nostalgic mode zeroed, but as i tried to open up a tad the shadows, it looked terrible.
