Administrators Andrew Reid Posted July 26, 2013 Administrators Share Posted July 26, 2013 From the official Blackmagic forum - As of late, I have been noticing the join dates of posters. If you had joined in 2012, I would have a greater appreciation for your opinions concerning BMD shipping delays. However, you are over a year late to the dance and possibly lack a grasp of what real hard core waiting is all about. And if you think waiting = better quality, you might consider a rethink. This is a very good point and something Blackmagic should acknowledge a little bit more. Someone who had ordered a BMCC in April 2012, waited until July, waited until September, shifted to mFT, waited a further 9 months, still no camera, shifted pre-order to 4K Production Camera, expected July, put back to September. That is a customer with no camera for SEVENTEEN months. There are a lot of these people and I feel for them. How about a discount for the first customers, the longest waiters? --- It isn't all about the Pocket and 4K cameras. Blackmagic need to consider their original customers from April 2012. Constructive solutions and criticism only please...

/p/
This is where the saying "The best camera is the one in my hands" comes from... Unless it's an overpriced POS Canon C100 am I right?
tosvus
Yes, I agree with the original post referenced. BMD should reach out to early adopters (or people that TRIED to be...). I'm not one of them, but it seems like the decent thing to do. For the rest of us who just joined the bandwagon this summer...well, let's be patient.. BMD is offering some truly unique products at (relative) affordable prices. BMD could probably check with authorized retailers that have pre-order lists, and at the very least contact the early ones that have not yet received cameras to offer some explanation/promise of priority on a personal level, or better, offer some discount/add-on included for free tom compensate for the long wait.
