I actually have a UV photography set up where it makes sense and I suppose lens flares can be ok in film (but then anamorphic would be better, no?). Any other reasons? A little flare is ok in certain circumstances, but the type of flare illustrated in the article is excessive to my taste. It shows how important a lens hood would have been in the past.
