Administrators Andrew Reid Posted August 2, 2013 Administrators Share Posted August 2, 2013 The dual-CPU Canon 7D is one step closer to the tantalising prospect of raw video today. The main developer at Magic Lantern A1ex has found the raw buffers and silent pictures are working. Further work is required to port the raw video module. jpfilmz
http://vimeo.com/71649487 They are making progress and it looks awesome. Some moiré is occurring but a mosaic engineering filter should fix that right?
anchoricex
dual CPU's = faster processing than 5dmkiii ?
Administrators Andrew Reid Posted August 4, 2013 Author Administrators Share Posted August 4, 2013 Likely not faster as they are the older DIGIC 4 chips from 2009, but the write speeds are similar (91MB/s and up) so good for continuous raw shooting later. Still only at silent pics burst mode stage. Moire like 50D but easily reducible in post or with VAF, it only affects the very highest frequencies. Not better than 5D Mark III but definitely heading for second place!
