Servo
Slightly off topic, but anyone know the resolution of this image (I'm not a mathematician)? Rather than shooting anamorphic, I'm thinking of getting a 4K camera. earnesync
HurtinMinorKey
Slightly off topic, but anyone know the resolution of this image (I'm not a mathematician)? Rather than shooting anamorphic, I'm thinking of getting a 4K camera. Aren't there aesthetic qualities to an anamorphic lens than the aspect? I was wondering if high resolution sensors would make anamorphic unnecessary one day.
Servo
There are, but I've been researching buying and shooting anamorphic lenses for weeks (I haven't gotten the EOSHD guide, though), and although I'd really like them, they're going to limit what I can do on some short films I want to shoot. If I had the time and money, I'd like to do it. For now, it's a little impractical, and for work I do for clients as a videographer, 4K camera that I can always use as a run and gun camera is going to be much more helpful. Nikkor
If you don't want the look, cropping 4k is ok, unless you need the extra resolution, but if that's the case you would need a real expensive professional lens.
KarimNassar
Depends on the available images size of the sensor regarding the red epic: shot in 4k HD at 3840/2160 croped at 2.39:1 : 3840/1607 shot in 5k FF at 5120/2700 croped at 2.39:1 : 5120/2142
