ronjbase
First impressions , I like it. Learning "Panasonic speak" on the menu, must have been written by a government bureaucrat, LOL The only thing that seems to be hidden is the way to format the card. Any tips...... Administrators Andrew Reid Posted December 16, 2011 Administrators Share Posted December 16, 2011 Tips on the menus? It takes around 1-2 weeks of solid use to re-wire your head from another camera system to the GH2. It would be the same if you had used Panasonic for 5 years previous and then swapped to Canon without never having used one. The design of the menus and the button layouts on the GH2 are superb in my view. Do you have my book? It would speed up the learning process somewhat! ronjbase
I agree on the menu, it is a different language. Will get your book soon, one thing i notice off the bat is that the footage looks fine in playback/exposure but is about 1/3 under in FCP7, trying to figure this one out. Administrators Andrew Reid Posted December 16, 2011 Administrators Share Posted December 16, 2011 Ah the joys of FCP gamma shift. This is an Apple thing, usually once you export the footage back out it returns to proper exposure. You can try the 5DtoRGB app to transcode the AVCHD to ProRes - this should fix the gamma bug. ronjbase
where does one fine the 5DtoRGB app. and if I upgrade to the official firmware while 30P be native in FCP7 or will will I need anything else to make it work. About 99% of my work is for the web and the bigwigs like 30fps

Caleb Genheimer
I have been unable to get 5DtoRGB working correctly. While it is not free, it is cheap, I use: ClipWrap (quite speedy at rewrapping .mts files in a .mov wrapper, AND excellent for converting to various ProRes flavors). 5DtoRGB seems to be generally suggested for Adobe suite users, as it converts to DNXD or whatever its called.
