Mexican physicist Rafael Gonzalez has found the solution to spherical aberration in optical lenses, solving the 2,000-year-old Wasserman-Wolf problem that Isaac Newton himself could not solve.

 

Now would be a good time to get a Fujian 35mm, f1.7 -- before they all become as clinically sharp as Summicrons!

I'm not from Mexico, but no doubt some Mexicans are proud of this significant accomplishment.

Looks like the quality of PetaPixel's journalism has improved. When I stopped reading their site, it was because they would merely post links to other sites/videos with little commentary and click baitey titles. 

Now they're writing gems like

So how does apply to moving elements (focusing and zoom) if the distance between elements has to be exact? Curved sensors dead before they even appeared in a real product?
