Shell64
Thinking about getting this lens because it’s cheap fast and versatile. Either will get it with or without speedbooster. Anyone uses this lens on micro four thirds without speedbooster? Is speed boosting this lens worth it?
newfoundmass
I haven't but this lens is interesting. https://youtu.be/qvF8AkR8BDs
Shell64
Yeah it seems killer for the price. Without a speed booster is 34-100 2.8 for $
Inazuma
This is one of the first lenses I bought when I got a Nikon d5200 years ago. It was a perfect match for the same reasons you mentioned and I'm sure would be too with a speed booster.
Adam Kuźniar
It's really just fine - nothing to write home about.
Avenger 2.0
It does have 2.8-4.0 aperture, so not really that great for video.
Shell64
I meant the 17-50 2.8 not 17-35 (don’t think that lens exists lol).
Super Members BTM_Pix Posted August 2, 2019 Super Members Share Posted August 2, 2019 I think there are probably quite a few examples of the Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 it in the Lenses thread. I have it in Sigma SA mount and shared some images from it there recently. (click the diagonal arrow to go to the specific post) Its a good value all rounder and the IS will certainly come in useful for you with the G7. Another similar one to have a look at is the Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 as well.

Looks like it does ? https://www.dxomark.com/sigma-17-35mm-f2-8-4-ex-dg-hsm-review-an-old-cheap-and-great-wide-angle-lens/ The sigma 17-50 2.8 is a nice lens, find it better then the tamron one (had both). Went now for the sigma 18-35 1.8, but it is much more expensive and heavy.
Shell64
Does the 17-50 have a manual appetite ring? I want to get it with a manual speed booster to save $$ This lens has killer range at 2.8, and for $300, WOW Cinegain

Get the Viltrox EF-M2, it works perfect with the 17-50mm f2.8 and will give you an equivalent 24-70mm f2.
Kisaha
Good find for anyone want to go cheap. As I mainly shoot manual, I would be careful with this: "Manual focusing, however, can be a bit fiddly with barely an inch separating infinity from the Sigma’s minimum focus distance of 28mm"
