Bioskop.Inc
I ended up going for the Genus Eclipse & am very happy (v.good sharpness & pretty much 0 colour cast) - I really needed it to be 95mm, but the largest they do is 82mm & i had about the same budget. Francisco Rios
Lightcraft are good...the only drawback is you get at some point also polarizer effect and color shift... For some shooting is not big deal. On these video my variable ND with the "drawback" works also as polarizer and I like that. https://vimeo.com/42675666 Other option is to buy fixed ND 0.6, 0.9 , and 1.2. And also buy xume adapter. http://www.xumeadapters.com/order-here/82mm-adapters.html 67 us for one holder and three lens adapter. So you can change very quick your ND. Also fixed ND are cheaper than a good variable ND . With good ND you can minimize color shift and probably get better resolution. Maybe with your budget these can be also an option. Best. dahlfors
I've used both Cokin P-series and a Lightcraft Fader ND Mk2. I wrote a summary of that in another thread: http://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/3289-which-nd-filter-should-i-buy/?p=40951 In short: - Lightcraft Fader ND Mk2 softens the image a bit. - With a system like Cokin P-series you'll have a small solution without softening - and you can stack two ND's to suit the conditions. bricker85
I've done a ton of research on ND filters, and Light Craft is nothing special. There's nothing wrong with them, per se, but they've found a way to dress up a cheap Chinese vari-ND filter with better packaging to call it something nicer. The EXACT same quality vari-ND filter is $15 on Amazon. I have a couple sample photos (plus info about the filter) in this blog post: http://www.travelcaffeine.com/photography-uses-neutral-density-filters/
Paulio
I would buy a couple of high quality used regular ND's and stack. Save money, better IQ.
