Zach Ashcraft
How do you store your gear when its not in use? I have a number of bags and backpacks, though not all my gear will fit in these and I find that leaving a think tank bag out in my room is not the most sightly solution. All my shelves accumulate dust making the surfaces hard to clean, and thus gear will get dusty if I put it there. So, anyone have any great solutions for gear storage? Pictures are welcome! I'm not opposed to building something if you have ideas
QuickHitRecord
I have Pelican cases for each camera kit that I have and for my prime set, and a perfect by mysteriously unbranded rolling plastic bin for my lights, stands, and grip gear that I bought from someone on Craigslist (though honestly I keep the lights built for easy access most of the time). I have some cheap Ikea drawers where I keep all of my production-related odds and ends -- one drawer that is fitted with an airtight plastic bin for additional lenses, one drawer for step rings and adapters, one drawer for rig hardware. Slider, jib and tripods live in their original cases.
JohnBarlow
I use lightweight golf bags for lightstands, tripods etc
maxotics
I get large ziplock backs and put cameras, and chargers into them, and then into plastic, rolling bins like QuickHitRecords. The ziplock bags keep everything somewhat separate, but parts together, and also keep the dust out, etc. One nice thing about buying used cameras on Craigslist is people are always throwing in camera bags. I have no shortage of those!
