If it is sharp at f1.8, and produces nice flares it could be of interest and value to many including myself.  Looks like I would get the E mount version and then adapt it to M4/3 as needed.  1.33x is pretty lack luster for an anamorphic, but as character lens this may worth price.

I think you mean get M43 version and adapt on E mount? ?  There is M43 to E mount adapter but not E mount to M43 adapter.

Btw there are FF ones out there, the cheapest is around $4000 though ?

in 10 years? ?  Jokes aside that lens look really nice on the S1H promo, but 2.2KG by itself it definitely not for 1 man band...

This is probably the closest on mft for 2X anamorphic, for less than half the price of an Orion.

But Sirui one is definitely the more affordable and light enough for hand handle shooting without rig.

500$ for an anamporphic glass  ?

With their profit in this price ?

And you have great expectations ? ?

The slrmagic 1.33x adapter cost the same price without any lens, really interested to see the actual result, but yeah dont expect too high.

Holy Simon Cowell.

I'm a bit of a trap faller apparently, so once I fell for one that's vintage anamorphics. Taking lenses, clam adapters, dual focusing, rods & lens supports. Man, that wasn't for me. xD

So... it was cool to see single focus all-in-1 anamorphic lenses getting affordable. Especially with the Atlas Lens Co. and Vazen. Or before it even inexpensive adapters, like that one tiny sensor only 1.5x VM Lens or now with the DJI cams and smartphones the ones from Moment.

But a 50mm f/1.8 1.33x anamorphic for 500 bucks! That's just unheard of. Speaking of unheard of... Sirui, the brand known mostly for its tripods of course... now one time I read about them working on lenses... never actually saw one making it to market. So let's just see if this will. Interesting that now this shows up!

This is great news, whether you buy it or not. That affordable anamorphic lenses are hitting the market is a big deal and a sign of things to come.

It's terrific news.  Frankly I can't understand why we don't have any AF anamorphic lenses,  especially as AI becomes more of a thing in cameras.

That is true, only I am not waiting on any MFT lenses. I hope Samyang will finally announce their anamorphic lenses at IBC. (that has been going on forever).
