BIoodBrother
Hi, I can't seem to find an answer in any forums, so I'll ask myself.. I have a Vanilla-patched GH2 and I am therefore shooting with 44mbit. Now I finished shooting and editing a film. I want to export it. First Question- I used h.264 blu ray instead of h.264 to insure the highest quality.. was I wrong to do so??? Second Question- I don't want to lose any quality and don't care about the size.. So should I just bump the mbit size up to the limit, which interestingly enough is only 40 or 50 and wouldn't even support a higher bitrate, as for example the unified-patch. Or is the "real" bitrate saved somewhere else anyway?
Axel
Adobe never developed it's own high quality master codec (like Apples ProRes), but the AME does well with mpeg4. On a Mac? Export as ProRes. On a PC? Instead of giant uncompressed I'd try DNxHD or Cineform, others know better. That said, you really should try to export with the 40/50 mbps settings. Visually, there should be no difference at all. My friend does this all the time.
Andrew Clunie
If you want to export a master, use DNxHD Avid codec. For online publishing, export a Quicktime / h.264 mp4
