It’s funny, because every review I read of the Sigma FP, they always marked it as a negative that it “only” had an electronic shutter, for a camera clearly geared towards video.

Dinosaurs roaming amongst us I suppose.

Sometimes I feel photography sites should never review cinema cameras. As they always will screw it up. Guaranteed

Unfortunately, that would affect photo quality,  substantially. Especially with fast moving subjects and mixed lighting.

For video it won't make any difference.

That's why I said GHx and SxH cameras.

If you care about photography so much that a moderate hit in quality in extreme conditions bother you then buy a Panasonic G9 / S1R instead

This is sounding way more like an X-H2 than an X-T4.

A lot of what most everyone wanted improved on the X-T3 were features already on the X-H1. So I guess they decided they need only one professional stills/video hybrid moving forward that has everything, rather than artificially segment two flagships.  I just hope it’s not too much more expensive than the X-T3...

Maybe then they can beef up the X-T40 abut you close the gap that a supercharged X-T4 will make.

Unless they come up with a superb industrial design idea, when the mechanical shutter retracts in, to allow for the electronic variable ND to move forward or backwards.

If one were go have 2 distinct camera bodies (and 2 completely different mounts too?) for videos and photo, it wouldn't really be a hybrid camera, would it? Also, then one would rather have a proper cinema camera and a high MP full frame or medium format (Sony A7R iv?)
