Alt Shoo
They had information on hand this year, but surprisingly not many sites covered it. I wonder why? It seems to be a good camera though. Here is the information. https://m.dpreview.com/news/6949935134/sharp-8k-video-camera-appears-at-ces-2020-with-some-specs-and-availability-details
Administrators Andrew Reid Posted January 22, 2020 Administrators Share Posted January 22, 2020 Personal View covered it. Been a long wait for it. They'd be better off keeping it under-wraps then surprising everyone, and then releasing it. Alt Shoo and IronFilm

I remember that was what they said in Los Vegas at NAB in one of the interviews. I liked the images I saw from NAB. Seems like they are on to something good here. The price is over optimistic and has to come down or they won't sell many IMHO...

IronFilm
We'll still be waiting in 2030! 6 hours ago, majoraxis said: The price is over optimistic and has to come down or they won't sell many IMHO... Indeed, the price is so so so high (especially they longer they wait! If it had came out when first announced then this price would have made sense. But we've got the Z Cam F8 8K camera and others coming along like maybe the Fuji XT4 or Panasonic GH6 with 6K at much much lower prices). At least adding 10bit now makes the camera more appealing. (and other little tweaks like using full HDMI) But still, Sharp is a brand new player in this market segment, they have to be aggressive with their pricing if they want any traction with their sales. Video Hummus
This is priced very oddly. New, unknown player in the market...Chooses MFT to make 8K sensor camera instead of say FF which has gone Super Saiyan in the market...Asking $2500-$4000K. Its almost like a proof of concept for other companies to take notice.

Jrsisson
I like the screen, 10 bit and the ports. Would swap 8k for excellent 1080 and an android operating system with built in WiFi and cellular abilities. I think resolution improvements are a dead end (as a sales factor) as far as the majority of the public, content creators and film makers are concerned. Good on Sharp for trying something new though and I hope it works out for them.
