Nikkor
If it's going to be that cheap it's very probable, specially having in mind what they said about "modular system", that the 10bit 4:2:2 4K will need some sort of external recorder or whatsoever. Lucian
4k at 8bit so you can see the bolloxed compression really clearly! Wish they would just do 1080p properly. Still i'm sure it will make a good all rounder, esp if the PV community hacks it :P

levisdavis
Sounds just like a Canon 1DC... Just add a MFT to EF smart SpeedBooster to the body... Could be a great investment. Julian
Guest Ebrahim Saadawi
I don't think it has to do more than 4k @8-bit really when we look at the competetion. What is the competition: Canon 1Dc at 7 times the price, it only does 4k @8bit, and h.264 8-bit 4:2:0 1080p. We were accepting the 1Dc just because it held a special place in the market with absolutely no competition, but after this is released, I think the 1Dc will look ridiculously priced and speced
strancali
Damn it, I was thinking of getting a 5D MKIII for stills and ML. Saw some used prices around $2500 but now not sure if I should wait for the GH4K. Decisions decisions decisions
strancali
Which USA vendor do you think would most likely have them in first based on your experiences??

Not to mention, the h264 coming out of the 1dc, 1dx and 5dmk3 is rather good!

I am comparing them as video cameras.
