Rick Moonbeam Darge
I'm looking for a wide angle option for my S35 camera and Pre/36 Iscorama. Right now all I have is a 50mm. Any suggestions out there for older lenses that won't vignette on an s35 sensor? I heard the AIS Nikkor 28mm f/2.8 wasn't a bad option Thanks
Rob Bannister
Get the Mir 24N or 24H, 24M. Amazing lens and it works for the isco in crop s35 The letters are mounts N and H are Nikon and M is Pentax M42 About $130 and even if it says MC it flares beautifully. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR3.TRC1.A0.XMir+24N&_nkw=Mir+24N&_sacat=0&_from=R40 '' target='_blank'>> '' target='_blank'>> Lucian
Rick Moonbeam Darge
Very cool. Thanks Rob Any experience going wider than a 35mm? I'm wondering what the widest I can go with this Isco and an s35 sensor
Rob Bannister
35 is pushing it I really think at 28mm you would vignette. I just sold my 28mm or I would try it. I do believe I was able to get that with 1.5X but 2X would vignette then I was back up to 50-58mm
Rick Moonbeam Darge
Which 28mm did you own? The Nikkor?
Rob Bannister
Yeah I had the 28mm F2.0 AIS nikkor. I was going to use it as a wide option for the BMPCC
Tim McC
I used the 60D (same or similar to S35?) and 35mm was as wide as I could go with the Iscorama. You'll see slight vignetting, but not a distracting amount. You might want to try the Nikon 35-70mm f/2.8. It's a push-pull zoom, so it won't mess with your anamorphic alignment. It also makes for some decent flares and artifacts...
