cherrybie
Hi. I am looking for some SDK for wired Android device to control EOS RP. We need to realize these function: adjust the camera's gear(such as adjusting the camera's P gear, AV gear); touch screen focus function; preview depth of field function etc. Or if someone can help us do this thing. Super Members BTM_Pix Posted July 21, 2020 Super Members Share Posted July 21, 2020 You can download the SDK from the Canon developer program sites. These are regional, so just pick the one that is right for you North, Central, and South America: https://developercommunity.usa.canon.com/ Europe and Asia https://developers.canon-europe.com/s/ Oceania: https://www.canon.com.au/support/support-news/support-news/ You just have to create an account and then you can login and download the files. To be honest, unless you absolutely have to have a wired interface then with you using an RP then I'd be inclined to use the new CCAPI protocol that it supports as it uses simple HTTP so it is a much easier and faster method to get something working. Thanks for your reply. I didn't find what I need at the Asia's sites. And I also contacted Canon's Technical Specialist. He told me they don't support SDK for wired Android device. Where do you think I can find the SDK I want? Or do you know someone that can create this?
Super Members BTM_Pix Posted July 28, 2020 Super Members Share Posted July 28, 2020 Can you just clarify whether you actually want to develop your own application or you need an existing application that does what you need ? Also, is there a specific reason why it needs to Android and why it needs to be cabled ? If you want to develop it yourself using the Canon SDK but retain a small footprint of an Android device and be wired then there are a number of small SBCs that can run Windows 10 that you would be able use to do that if you didn't mind putting the parts together. I would repeat though that if you don't need it to be wired then using the CCAPI protocol will be far easier to get a custom application working quickly. If you want something off the shelf, then have you looked at qDslrDashboard ? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=info.qdd The list of supported cameras linked to on Play doesn't show the RP but the list is outdated and looking at discussions in their forum people are using it with the RP so it might be worth downloading it to see if it does everything you need (or at least close enough) to save you having to do something from scratch. Thanks. I need to find an existing application. If don't exist, then I am wondering if someone can try to develop one. Now we are focusing a project about taking photos like vending machine. The mainboard of it is Android system. And the mainboard need to connect the data network through WIFI function. We don't have the ability to develop this ourselves. Thank you very much. Yes, I do better search at some possible place.
