Amazeballs
So thats what Huawei says about their new Mate 40 pro among other things: Shoot cinematic footage on a mere whim, thanks to the XD Fusion HDR Video mode that renders each frame with faithfully optimised detail, colour, contrast and brightness, via custom multi-exposure imaging. Video quality is significantly enhanced, even in low-light conditions, with little-to-no over-exposure across the image, and the subjects' faces will be remarkably well-lit. Isn't that what we all been waiting for some time? Now as it is a software based thing it thereotically should be avaliable on all phones who have strong enough chip to run it, right? I am still waiting to see that thing in action, not many video samples online. Also curious if it will run on other Huawei phones after some updates. And its smaller. I would put in on a gimbal and use exclusevly as my portable video gimbal camera.
Administrators Andrew Reid Posted October 30, 2020 Administrators Share Posted October 30, 2020 Same sensor but not the same processor.
Amazeballs
Yep, my bad, they sound a bit similar. But anyway, would it need the top of the line huawei processor to pull that trick out of its hat?
androidlad
It's just marketing BS for frame-blending HDR. Newer iPhones do this for 4K 60P (2-frame blended from 120P).

Or is it possible to get it in non-stock apps as well? Which smartphones do 4k60 this way?
