Ryan Plunkett
Greetings all! Looking to shoot my new camera in the flattest profile possible and stumbled across ZLog. Every article I’ve seen mentions the Z6 and Z7, but no mentions of the new kid on the block. Anyone tried this?
newfoundmass
Yeah, unless you absolutely need one I don't understand using an external recorder. It just adds more bulk / effort. Mark Romero 2

You are ill informed my friend. That isn't what it is doing. It also reduces in-camera sharpening to below what is possible with the built in profiles. It is an external profile loaded onto the camera.

It's not like lowering contrast or saturation on existing profiles.
Wren
Z-log is amazing. Although I am having troubles with it on both my Nikon Z6ii and Z7ii in 4K50fps mode. Seems every second frame is corrupted.

Seems every second frame is corrupted. Same here. It also happens to other custom picture profiles that I loaded onto the camera. Footage is rendered unusable unfortunately then.. 😞 Would be great to get an update. Though I can't imagine how to update the profiles.. Maybe it's a firmware problem with custom grad curves in high framerate modes in 4K? Only seems to happen in 4K. Andrew, any guesses? Currently Z-log works on some frame rate setting but not others. Yeah there's some firmware problem. Working as expected 4K/24p but it seems Nikon has a problem going on in 4K/60p with custom picture profiles. I'll make them aware of it. Meanwhile, going to try a few workarounds.
