hoodlum
The 4k 120p is what caught my eye. https://www.sony.jp/ichigan/products/ILCE-1/ "4:2:2 10bit 4K 120p high frame rate video recording, all pixel full size 4K readout, approximately 15+ stop wide dynamic range"
Tim Sewell
It's already showing on the US Sony site: https://www.sony.com/electronics/interchangeable-lens-cameras/ilce-
Trankilstef
S-cinetone available, improved AF, 8K; 5.8k oversampling to 4K in super 35... It's the perfect stills/video professional all in one. What Canon failed to provide with the R5. IronFilm, Emanuel and Juank
Super Members BTM_Pix Posted January 26, 2021 Author Super Members Share Posted January 26, 2021 The stills spec was impressive enough but Its an absolute monster on the video side as well. 8K, Cinetone, 16bit RAW out over HDMI. They've even put some cooling in it 😉 Emanuel
Administrators Andrew Reid Posted January 26, 2021 Administrators Share Posted January 26, 2021 30 minute limit due to heat in 8K and 4K/60p 😂 Otherwise looks good. Definitely has the edge on the EOS R5. Trankilstef

Marcio Kabke Pinheiro
Just now, BTM_Pix said: The devil will be in the recovery times no doubt. Probably. At least looks like that they've put a proper heat spreader inside - since the body is made of magnesium, they probably will have better recovery times compared to the Canon. https://www.sony.com/electronics/interchangeable-lens-cameras/ilce-1 Basically they made a competitor to the single-digit Canons and Nikons, but with 50mp. I guess that it is the dream from your sport shooting years, @BTM_Pix 🙂

Video Hummus
Impressive beast! Sony seems to be the only camera manufacturer that gets the whole ease of connectivity thing in the age of smartphones. They took baby steps with their phone integration with the A1. I guess that it is the dream from your sport shooting years, @BTM_Pix 🙂 At £6500.00 its the same price as what it would be to get into a D6 or an EOS-1DxIII so if I was still in that business (not that there is much left it anymore after COVID) then it would certainly be an alternative but whilst they make a lot of the electronic shutter, the mechanical one is still only 10fps so lags behind the other two. They seem to have made strides in controlling the side effects with the electronic shutter though so that might not be the issue it once was with the A9. Its unfortunate for Sony that they look to have finally got it all together with a pro sports camera system (now they also have the lenses and networking workflow for liver editorial) to take the other two on properly just at the point at which the target industry is on its knees, save for the big agencies. IronFilm
Your turn now Panasonic! Give us a Sony A1 but with the smaller 4/3" sensor in a GH6 and at the low price of $1995! 8K 10bit? 4K 120fps 10bit? Yes please! herein2020, MangoZoom, solovetski and 6 others

I can see them taking it out of their next A7S camera and replacing it with their eND + IBIS technology. Juank and IronFilm
