Would «zoom through» adapters be more suitable than standard ones? Something that does what the 30mm attachment for the Kowa Cine Prominar 40mm does! au8ust Posted February 5, 2021 Share Posted February 5, 2021 Tried a Canon 0.8x WA in front of FVD-16A. It gives about 15-20% more coverage but very difficult to use. You need a proper support for it since you can't simply clamp on your FVD-16A's front. You will also need to be aware that most FVD extend when focus closer so it will hit your rear WA glass. au8ust Posted February 5, 2021 Share Posted February 5, 2021 Sorry I didn't try to focus (at least not from 1.1m to Inf), only checked the FOV. Hannes Famira Posted January 10, 2022 Share Posted January 10, 2022 I have been very happy with my banged up old PRO WA-8XLC Century Optics wide angle converter. It gives me infinity focus and close focus without diopter up to 35 inches from the sensor plane (22" from the front element). In order to clamp it to the front of my single focus solution I added an Xume MFXLA82 Lens Adapter (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LYDBB7K/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_SXB7B01K3SKD18VGD6H3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1). Phillip23 Posted January 11, 2022 Share Posted January 11, 2022 There is also the option of having the Century WA adapter become the variable diopter using one of Pooli's helicoids. This eliminates the need to double up on glass. The weak link is the Century itself. The quality of the image towards the edges gets not-so-good.
